The RIPH Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace is designed to provide employees from any sector with a basic understanding of the principles of health and safety in the workplace. For the purposes of this specification the generic term ‘workplace’ is taken to mean any premises, or part of premises, which are not domestic and are used by any person as a place of work. It includes any place within the place of work or premises to which such a person has access whilst at work.
